CHILDREN’S ADVOCATE
Part Time (20 hours)

Seeking Children's Advocate available approximately 20 hours per week on weekday mornings, evenings and on Saturdays. Children in a temporary domestic violence crisis shelter need a caring, loving individual to implement activities designed to promote social, physical and intellectual growth. This position is will process children’s intakes and teach skills such as alternatives to violence, safety planning and record all outcomes. High school diploma and 2-3 years experience required. Prefer education and/or experience in Child Development. The successful candidate will have a background in early childhood education. Must possess organizational, planning and relationship building skills.  Bilingual skills and computer experience a plus.

 

BI-LINGUAL PROGRAM ASSOCIATE

Full Time

BA-Beyond Abuse, a program of Sojourner Truth House, has an immediate full-time opening for a professional to coordinate the intake process of the program. Duties include: scheduling, conduct, document intakes (bilingual), and maintain group schedules. Serve as program liaison to Probation and Parole.  This position is also responsible for co-facilitating 23-week educational groups and assisting with statistical reporting, and curriculum and program development.

 

The successful candidate must have a strong commitment to the mission, policies, goals and philosophy of Sojourner Truth House. Bi-lingual (Spanish/English) written and verbal communications skills are required. Ability to relate to diverse communities and excellent interpersonal skills needed. Experience in abuser treatment methods preferred. Computer experience in Word and Access are a plus.  Maintenance of confidentiality is mandatory.

 

Associate degree or two years of college with job-related coursework, and three to five years of related experience required. Experience in group facilitation preferred.
